Position: Outreach Worker
Number of positions: Two (2)
Reports to: HTS Counsellor
Working Hours: Full time
-Link peers to HIV/AIDS screening and testing services
-Document commodities distribution i.e. commodities and lubricants
-Participate, conduct and, manage in reaches and outreaches with HTS counsellors and healthcare providers
-Educate and inform peers on PrEP and PEP services as well as link them with HIV prevention methods
-Organize and participate in support groups meetings for peers
-Provide monthly reports on the work done through the outreach summary sheet and violence reporting forms
-Create a good rapport with the public health facilities
-Liaise with healthcare providers to improve better health access for SOGIE identifying individuals.
-Capture and inform the outreach workers on emerging health needs and trends for SOGIE peers.
-Performing other related duties within the clinic as may be assigned.
-Attend meetings related to peer education.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN OUTREACH WORKER
-Certification in Peer education training
-Good communication and mobilization skills
-Good Interpersonal and time management skills
-Negotiation and decision-making skills
-Good recording keeping and reporting skills
-Ability to work and deliver results with minimum supervision
-Demonstrated ability to work as a team player.
-HIV training and treatment / experience.
-Demonstrable experience in working with Key Populations.
-Training in MSM sensitivity will be an added advantage.
